WHY ANNEX
BEACHSIDE:

IMPORTANT POINTS:

  • Daytona Beach would keep its famous name but with a fresh identity;  Proposed name, subject to vote:  Daytona Beachside.

  • Reduced tax:  Annexing will bring tax rate down from 5.9300 to  4.3202 — City property tax is 37% lower in Ormond.

  • Daytona Beach reports roughly 55% more violent crime and 38% more property crime than Ormond.  After annex, Ormond Beach takes over policing and city management.

Daytona Beachside was once a vibrant beach community. Decades of ineffective leadership have left it languishing — drug trafficking, open drug use, human waste on the sidewalks, alongside years of blight and long-abandoned city lots.

The City has not just failed to address these problems; it's added to them, buying properties with no plan for development. Those properties sit and decay —with no accountability and no long-term vision for revitalization. The community has reached a breaking point.

It's time for a change. Annexing Daytona Beachside into Ormond Beach would bring a government with a record of stable leadership and sustainable growth — and a real commitment to restoring Daytona Beachside.

Annexation would mean more than a change in governance. It would mean safer streets, family friendly public spaces and events with responsible development that puts residents first. It would mean pride in your neighborhood again.
